Part of the group

I took a personality test, it said I was a neutral sheep. Well, that might not be true anymore. I am now part of a group, the group people that use big knives or very sharp scaples and cut into their finger, sometimes even removing part of it. Yep, I did that this morning. Big knief. However I managed to only cut the skin of the tip of my finger. Very lucky that way. I was waiting for the blood to come shooting out, but it didn't.
Maybe I am still a bit of a neutral sheep. Happy to report, this did not effect my knitting abilities. Posted by Hello

my own model

This time I decided to be my own model. (It all went to kitty's head, too much attitude.) So this is the first sweater I started working on. If I leave it like this, I will have the backless look. Kinda trendy, right? Posted by Hello

rest of sweater

But then Michelle gave me some stitchmarkers, now I have the motivation to make the rest of the sweater. (Or I could bind it off and turn the bottom thing into some strap for the back or so.) Posted by Hello

shoe fetish part II

Here are the 2 culprits, for a while there my yarn obsession was gone. I felt the need to get even more shoes. Someone pointed out to me that the whole shoe thing was nothing new. And she is right, it is nothing new. She has one of my quotes on her blog, something about green shoes, me loving them, the shoes loving me but the price was keeping us apart. (Not for long, hahaha.)
Now, I still have my shoe fetish, I don't think it will ever leave me as long as Mr. K. Cole is designing shoes. I have just added a yarn obsession to it. (Just because it was gone for a week, doesn't mean it was gone for good. I know that now.) Posted by Hello

Invisible force field

As for my former model, Ophelia, I already said she got attitude. She now has a force field around her to make her invisible to the rest of the world. Yep, she thinks nobody can see her. Now do you understand why I can't use her as a model for a while. Posted by Hello

I love Kenneth!!!

I never thought it would happen to me, but I have a favorite shoe designer. His name: Kenneth Cole. O yes, I said it, I love his shoes. The shoes that sealed to deal, so to say, their called Stone Ranger. Pointy flats, never thought I could love the pointy, but I do. Just talking about them stirs up emotions.
Haven't done much knitting. My mom was in town, she doesn't know about my knit obsession. I had to hide some of my yarn over at Michelle's house and she was nice enough to display and write about my secret stash in the Michelle show.
(Man, that is a funny show. I recommend watching it, or if it is unavailabe in your area you can read about it.)

Nutball in a box

The cat is a bit of a nut. She loves to sit in this little cardboard box. It cracks me up. And I know she looks a bit pissy in all of the pics, but really, she is sweet little nutball. Posted by Hello

Wash cloth addiction

Haha, the washclothes that I gave as a house warming present. These are so addictive. Once you start, you can't stop. They are so much fun.
Notice my lovely model, Ophelia. She doesn't come cheap. Posted by Hello

AAARRRGGGGHHHH

Just had to let that one out. I am trying to place the correct buttons on my blog, and it is just not working. Getting very frustrated here. I'm at the point where I want to throw the computer of of somthing.
It's a good thing stargate is on. Keeps me a little preoccupied. But Micheal Shanks (smatie pants scientist, can't think of his name) needs to cut his hair. Only McGuyver, Argentinians and Uruguyans can pull off the (nearly and full on) mullet.

My kitty has no belly

Ophie just got fixed and they shaved her belly. She looks all naked down there. And when I came home she looked at me with that "why oh why" face. Poor thing.

Went to Star Wars yesterday with Michelle. We cheered when they put the helmet on Darth Vader, I mean who wouldn't, it's Darth Vader, ultimate evil and yet sooo cool. I guess the rest of the theatre wouldn't (and didn't). Maybe they didn't get it.

After reading Michelle's blog this morning, I found out she is covetting my sweater. Well, first of all I'm sure it is written down as a rule that: thy shalt not covet thy friends sweater, unless you are will to give her your Klaralund. Second, the joke is on her. I have doubts that I will ever finish the sweater (insert evil laugh followed by sigh with slight hint of sad), because finishing stuff is just not me. So she can covet the front and part of the back ...

Hooray for stitchmarkers

I'm sure I talked about the stitchmarkers Michelle gave me. I just wanted to add, those stitchmarkers gave me new inspiration to work on my brown sweater. I am doing some cabling and it's not that I need the markers, but it is sooo much more fun knitting with the markers. I can't explain it but I enjoy knitting the front of my sweater. I thought I was gonna be stuck with only a back that I would have to transform into a skimpy thing I hang around my neck and tie in the back. Thank you Michelle, thank you for the stitchmarkers ... and the hope of a full sweater.

Any tips on how to motivate me to make 2 sleeves? Just thinking ahead here.

I got tagged

I got tagged and now I gotta come up with a list of my 10 favorite things. So in no particular order:
-Laying in bed in the morning, knowing that I don't need to get up yet
-My mom's spaghetti
-Good tasty food in general
-Smell of frech flowers
-Making that one nice play on the rugby field, be it a nice run or a good tackle
-Having kitty sleep on my legs
-New shoes
-Having gravity work on my hair (that means I just got it done and it looks good instead of the frizzy mess it usually is)
-Starting a new project with new yarn
-Listening to my old kitty snore

Oddly enough, finishing projects is not on my list. I like them to be finished, but I don't like to do the finishing. It means I need to weave in ends.

... and I am a wash cloth addict.

Looking into my bag o' yarn, I saw I had only 3 balls of cotton left. I use those to make the cutest little wash cloths. But with only so few left, what will I do. For a second I really felt ... lost, a big wave of disappointment went through me. Shortly after that I realized that I am a washcloth addict. I love making them and seeing how the pattern of the yarn comes out.

O well, just add this to my list of reasons why I am a dork.

Lost all motivation

Ha, it is a beautiful day outside. I just had my last class of the semester, all that is left is a take home final. The lab classes that I teach are done and over. Just a few more students that have to hand in some labs and then I can assign the final grades.
Not much stuff is left for school. But I can't be bothered to do any of it. It is just too nice outside. I don't care about school, I've had to care all semester. The following would be the ideal way to pass the time: sitting outside, nice shaded area with the tv, watching some McGuyver or Stargate or Star Trek, drinking some ice tea, eating something tasty and snacky and of course all this while knitting one of my many projects.
(I am almost too embarrased to admit I have 9 things on the needles/crochet hooks)

Cause or effect

So I am a single woman of 28 and yesterday, while lying in bed, I was wondering if there would even be room for somebody else in the bed. (Plenty of room for people in my life, I know that one.) Then I rolled over and next to me, underneath the covers is a huge ball yarn, 853 yards to be exact. It takes up a lot of space. And yes, I sleep with it, it is soooo fluffy. Soon it will be a sweater and it can go in the closet, but until that time ... On my other side is the tv-remote. Very important gadget, cannot put that anywhere else, I need to have instant acces. I mean, what if an infomercial comes on and I start to get intregued, I won't be able to fall asleep.
So those are 2 spots, that cannot be taken up by another person. To top it all off, Ophelia (the kitty) jumps on the bed and takes up her spot. She is very fussy and she will lay down where she wants to. I can't stand up to her and I'll kick out anyone who does.
Yep yep, I am still single, are these things cause or effect?
